WEST SACRAMENTO, Yolo County — November 3, 2026. Two City Council district races began Election Night with Preston Jackson and Verna Sulpizio Hull in front, according to the 10:03 p.m. Yolo County unofficial report. The city is in Yolo County, not Sacramento County, despite its name and proximity to the capital.

District 3

Preston Jackson had 1,462 votes (53.79%), compared with 1,256 votes (46.21%) for Dave Jans — a reported lead of 206 votes. The county listed one of one precincts in the district as reporting; other ballots may remain outstanding.

District 4

Verna Sulpizio Hull led with 1,699 votes (56.52%), while Kathy Bailey had 1,307 votes (43.48%), a difference of 392 votes at that snapshot. These figures cover District 4 voters and should not be confused with the separate District 3 contest.

What happens after Election Night?

Yolo County’s canvass continues after polls close as eligible ballots are processed. The county planned another release around midnight and further updates on Tuesdays and Fridays during its canvass. All figures here remain unofficial. No candidate is being described as formally elected on the basis of this first report.
